The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great option if you're looking for a robotic mop and vacuum that's middle-of-the-road. It's a great mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the features found in its more expensive sibling.
During tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium-pile. It doesn't employ LIDAR, however, as other models do, to map your home.
1. IRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It comes with a variety of features and impressive cleaning power, such as a dirt compartment that is built into the charging base. It can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once the system is setup you can begin the cleaning automatically with just one button press. You can select an overall clean that focuses on cleaning up larger debris like cereal and rice or go for two thorough maps of your home to ensure that your entire home is properly arranged.
This robot vac performs well on both bare floors and carpets with low pile. It can pick up pet hair and also suck large objects up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's not the best time with plush or high-pile carpet, however iRobot claims it will improve with future models.
The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that focuses on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which it hopes will allow it to hug walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are standard however we found it only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with a superior filtration system which blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We think this is a nice statement however, it's not enough to justify a premium price.
Its smart navigation system employs sensors that keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology to map your interior. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, as well as create virtual boundary markers, so that it is aware of areas that need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robot that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vac settings are just as effective as those of more expensive models and its mopping feature is even better. Its spinning pads do a much better job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.
The only issue is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, that's not a problem when you're looking to purchase one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robo-vac is bigger than most of its competitors and filling it up takes only two or three times, even when you've got a lot of dirt.
As for the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to remove hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two mopping settings that it has which are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without being distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls, and then move away when it encounters one.
What sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for user intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically transfers physical garbage into the bin hidden in the background, as well as washes and dry mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app is adept at notifying you when something needs attention, for example, the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled cleaning session that was cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.
You can also create or combine rooms to customize the way that Q Revo treats your home. This feature is helpful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your house or when you have to frequently clear out clutter such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my test and was able to remove debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first pass. It can even vacuum up wet spills. I suggest drying the area with a towel prior to sending it in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you could wish for. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has a powerful suction that cleans hard and carpet floors, as well as the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also comes with an auto-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them germ-free and ready for use again. It also features a new sensor system that is able to better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture and other objects.
The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its sleeker, modern design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet tall and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the robot itself and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also comes with a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
Finally it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and voice assistant that operates offline, which means you can control it even when you're away from home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined route.
The X2 Omni has the best mopping performance read more of any robot we've tested due to its mop pads that rotate to clean tough stains away and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well and it increases suction when it detects carpet to ensure it's doing the job well. It also has a large battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as anything we've seen in an ordinary robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and vacuum robot that comes with a range of convenience features you don't often see on robots of this price range. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, identify various flooring types, and it's one of the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These are nice features but they also make the L10s more of a class of luxury. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It's tall and slim with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with an impressive bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. In the pane in the front is a second navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which is used as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, and pressing it again will shut off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The control panel includes an oblique menu that lets you choose cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will bring up the app's settings menu where you can modify how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map your home. This helps the robot mop and vacuum efficiently without getting stuck. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and identify them as obstacles, which is an excellent feature for households with pets or young children.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner, which removes 98.4% debris from our test on hard floors and taking out all but stubborn juice staining. Its mops also perform well, removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our tile, carpet, and wood tests. It was not as effective in removing sand from our hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
